 Key Responsibilities

  • Transport patients safely using stretchers or wheelchairs between wards and departments.
  • Move deceased patients respectfully to the mortuary as required.
  • Assist with releasing bodies to funeral homes after hours, on weekends, and on public holidays when requested.
  • Clean and wash stretchers, wheelchairs, and related transport equipment.
  • Collect and return stretchers and wheelchairs from around the hospital to designated areas.
  • Uphold Batho Pele Principles and respect Patients’ Rights and Responsibilities in all interactions.

 Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of Grade 10 / Standard 8 or ABET Level 4.
  • Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles.
  • Understanding of Patients’ Rights and Responsibilities.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Professional telephone etiquette.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, night duty, and public holidays.
